Inside the mind of a shark: Mayuko
She loves to eat, everything and almost anything. Mayuko has been known to latch on to the sides of buildings and leave a signature cookie cutter shape, all because she was hungry. When walking around, she’ll usually carry a limb of some animal to nibble on throughout the day, sometimes this ‘animal’ is the last “mean person” that she came across. Mayuko idolizes her Oji-sama, Kujira Hoshigaki, and now that she’s old enough to travel with him, follows him almost everywhere.
Mayuko loves to be in the water, just as any shark would, but she doesn’t care what water it is. She’ll be found swimming in fountains, down the streets of Kiri, in the lake, in the ocean, in puddles of water, and in the bath houses. When she does, she lets the dorsal fin on her back pop up to let everyone know that a Hoshigaki is in the water, and to fear the tiny girl.
In combat she always aims to kill or maim, not because she particularly wants to kill someone, but because she wants to eat them and tends to overdo it. She uses her own style oh Taijutsu, implementing jujutsu and judo into her techniques, pinning her opponents. She’s petite, and uses that against her opponents, basically flipping around them when attacking making it difficult for them to attack her. She’s quick, vicious, and doesn’t hold back when she has a hold on her prey.
Detailing further the Mind of One: Mayuko Hoshigaki
Mayuko, has always been an interesting child. To explain her in full takes much detail and careful planning, as she is quite unpredictable in all situations. However there are some things that can be observed, that is her constant behaviors. First, we'll speak about her particular skills as a kunoichi, which is Taijutsu.
Mayuko is not well known for her fighting style, but there is one thing for certain. There are very few who fight with the same tenacity that Mayuko does. She relies on her speed and the surprise of her ability in order to bring down opponents who can be much larger than herself. This style of fighting is one developed mostly on her own, but with aid of course from her Oji-sama (Kujira Hoshigaki). When she fights, or prepares to fight, she moves into a basic stance, turning her body so that her left side faces the opponent. She holds her left arm up and in front of her, her palm level with her shoulder and facing away from her body. Her left leg is forward, foot is pointing towards the enemy, and knee is slightly bent to allow her movement. Her right leg is, in turn, bent at the same angle as her left, both being a bit more than shoulder width apart. Her right foot is at a 90 degree angle from her left foot's direction and planted so that she can pivot on her left. Her right hand is held at waist level, palm facing down, behind her so as to balance her on her feet. The entire stance is specifically designed to fit Mayuko's personal style of fighting.
When in actual combat, Mayuko's personality shifts, she becomes quiet and shifts her personality entirely. She seems to stand very calmly, a dangerous sign of the things to come, and closes her eyes as she prepares for the first bit of combat. Her nose acts as her eyes and ears for the first moments of combat, and her body seems to fall into a relaxed state. As soon as she is ready, she will press off with her feet and become a whirlwind of pain and teeth as she fights, not stopping until her opponent lies on the ground broken or dead. Mayuko will not hesitate to bite into anyone, as her cannibalistic nature dictates that is normal for her. Her teeth are just as sharp as any sword and will pierce through armor just as easily as flesh, so be wary and ready for a painful experience as you are munched on by a little girl.
- Fight Song:
Now, we must address something more psychological, and that is her fascination with a shark doll which she calls "Yuki."
Yuki, the Great White Shark
Yuki is a plush Great White Shark doll which Mayuko carries everywhere she goes. The shark itself is a little over two feet long, which is more than half of her actual height currently. The doll is just thin enough for her to wrap her little arms around. Because Mayuko spends so much time in the water, Yuki does as well, which would be a problem if he was not in the care of a Hoshigaki. Mayuko uses the water that gets trapped in Yuki's stuffing to hydrate herself, as she does not need too much to stay hydrated and Yuki hold the equivalent of two buckets of water in his stuffing. To describe, in further, the detail of Yuki, he is modeled as a Great White. He has numerous stitches where Mayuko has bitten into and nibbled on him over the years, as well as normal wear and tear from the trips. This repair is all done by Mayuko's mother Yuriko Hoshigaki, who created Yuki for Mayuko several years ago. This after a horrible tragedy known throughout the animal world known as siblicide.
When Mayuko was just four years old, some of her brothers began to rough house as they usually did, however one of them went a bit far and attempted to kill one of the four others. This was the largest of the group and felt he was the most dominant, so he attempted to assert it. Mayuko's two sisters jumped in on the battle which ensued shortly after this attempt to assert dominance. The seven children fought tooth and nail against each other, and poor Mayuko sat back and watched, being the youngest of the eight. Unfortunately she was dragged in at one point, at terrible consequence to everyone. Being scared of dying, she immediately ripped the throat out of several of her brothers using her intense speed to make her way around them. After the first four fell, she turned to each as they came at her, diving and weaving and using her teeth to rip chunks out of her brothers and sisters violently. At the end, she came out on top and was found slowly nibbling on the body of the largest brother's corpse. When her mother and father came in on the scene, rather than horror, they felt pride in this little one's accomplishment. She was, however, kept away from the academy for several years for fear that she may eat her fellow students as well. This of course was just a precaution, and did not last long. However, when she did finally manage to begin attending the academy, the students tended to be very cautious of her. They all were told of the massacre, and would avoid Mayuko like the plague, leaving her to play alone in the yard. She didn't quite understand what was going on, however she still felt incredibly upset at the idea that she could not make friends with anyone. So, one day, she went to her mother and pleaded for a friend, and after several days of pleading was presented with Yuki. She carried it everywhere and still does, as it is her best friend in the whole world and will always be by her side. The children, of course, would not make fun of her as she carried the fairly large shark with her - well at least not to her face - and let her be to play with him in the classes she did attend.
This ends our story of Mayuko for now. She has a long way to go in the world of the shinobi, but don't worry, there shall be more to come. And always remember to swim at your own risk.
The Young Violinist
Mayuko, in conjunction with her Kunoichi training, has taken up the violin. A beautiful practice for the entertainment of guests in order to have yet another skill set of infiltration under her belt. The list below details the songs that she has learned over time.

History and Information
Originally starting in Mist Village, Hoshigaki Clan started out as a mutation Jutsu. A signature sign in Mist Village were the sets of teeth, made to look more feral and sharkish, something passed down among many Ninja within the Hidden Village of Mist. A forbidden jutsu was performed on a couple of ninja, making them more shark like.
It soon became a mass of chaos, as many ninja within Mist village began to praise the group of ninja who were like this, thus the forbidden jutsu was casted upon their children and instead of being used again, the jutsu was forgotten. Instead, it seemed to go on forever as a gene, instead of an actual jutsu. Because of the Hoshigaki effect within Mist, it soon became a Clan as it spread like a Kekkai Genkai. The sword became their signature weapon which anyone could immediately realize who they were fighting.

The Hoshigaki Clan's most notable features are their Blue Skin and Gills, which allows them to breathe under water. Coming in contact with water for the Hoshigaki will heal them in fact, refreshing their body. Dryness is casually their weakness. They're rather immense in strength, like a shark. Although they can see perfectly, they can smell blood even if it's a drop, so their sense of battle is an incredible fallback for an as tracker shinobi.

Mayuko Hoshigaki Dragon Summons
[Kuchiyose no Jutsu] : Ryuu (Dragons)
These Dragons are each unique individuals, and for the most part dangerous combatants. They attack with great vigor, and typically use their own style of fighting
Universal: Each rank gains a single “special attack” (free jutsu) pertinent to their respective element or elemental combination.
Minor Trait: +1 to Attack rolls
Rank 1 Summons: Tadashi – “The baby dragon.”
Summon Cost: 5 CP
HP/CP: 20/20
ATK/DEF: Highest Summoner Stat
Base Damage: Basic Taijutsu Damage
Tadashi is a small woodland dragon that has just hatched within the year. He’s an adorable little munchkin that Mayuko enjoys summoning just to play with most of the time. She refers to him as “Tadashi-kun,” which he really seems to enjoy. He walks on all fours, has a forest green coloring with a tan underbelly. He also has numerous leaf-like structures protruding from his body which change colors with the seasons. To the untrained eye, this little fellow might even look like an overgrown salamander, and with his youth, he basically is. Due to its youth, it has no elemental properties associated with it yet. However, in the future, this creature will become a fully formed forest dragon, diving between the plains of each universe and tending to forests in need. They are the guardians of the forest in the most literal of senses.
Rank 1: +1d4 HP Damage and +1 DR
Special Technique: Encroaching Vines (D-Rank - 3 CP)
RP: The youngling has yet to really understand what all it can do, however it has found that it can control the growth and movement of roots, branches, and vines. Due to this, the youngling has a tendency to trap potential food and people in traps made from these.
PVP: 1d4 Physical Stun (Or until hit)
Rank Two Summons: Ryukaji – “The Fire Starter”
Summon Cost: 10 CP
HP/CP: 30/30
ATK/DEF: Highest Summoner Stat +1
Base Damage: Basic Small Weapon Damage, No Penalties.
A dragon in his teenage years, this boy is a hot head in every sense of the word. As a fire dragon, he is the stereotypical red – he refers to himself as being a more ‘badass’ red than others – and has a fairly large wingspan. He’s about the size of Mayuko, if not a bit bigger. (5 feet tall, 10 feet long, 10-13 foot wingspan) and a bit of a pain in the ass as well. He doesn’t fight unless he wants to, or is bothered by something. When summoned, it’s more likely that he’ll run off and take a nap than to jump in right away, becoming a burden for the summoner. Mayuko has a tendency of getting into arguments with this one, in fact, she’ll stop combat simply to walk over and smack the literal hell out of Ryukaji while referring to him as “Baka-ryuu” or “Taida-ryuu.” It’s usually a good idea not to piss him off; he’ll burn your house down, with you in it, which he will then most likely urinate on to add insult to injury.
Rank 2: +1d4 HP Damage and +2 DR
Special Technique: Dragon’s Breathe (C-Rank - 5 CP)
RP: This hot headed individual relies heavily on his flames. The dragon opens his mouth wide and blasts the target with a large and violent spray of fire.
Pvp: 2d6 HP Dmg + 2 DoT for 1d4-1 (min 1) Rounds
Rank Three Summons: Ryutake – “The Living Mountain”
Summon Cost: 15 CP
HP/CP: 40/40
ATK/DEF: Highest Summoner Stat +2
Base Damage: Basic Medium Weapon Damage, No Penalties.
Ryutake, the mountain dragon, is a rather docile dragon. Preferring to meander through the world, he enjoys a nice relaxing evening to a battle. However, he’s rather protective and very territorial, so be wary when he’s called out to the field. He stands at a good 15 feet tall with a 20 foot length, and 10 feet across from shoulder to shoulder. Ryutake moves low to the ground, protecting his underbelly which, unlike many others is armor plated, leaving him with little to no weakness. His coloring is that of the typical mountain dragon, dark green with a brown underbelly and numerous spikes coating his body. Mayuko enjoys playing on this guy’s back, and uses him as her transportation between villages, not because she’s lazy, but because she enjoys the company of the big guy and keeps her from having to avoid or kill bandits along the way. Who’s going to mess with a 50 ton walking mountain?
Rank 3: +1d6 HP Damage and +2 DR
Special Attack: Fissure (B-Rank - 8 CP)
RP: The large land dragon uses its weight and control of the earth to cause small, controlled earthquakes to damage everything from structures to multiple enemies in an area.
PvP: Large AOE – Basic Summon DMG + 2d8 DMG
Special Note: Can DMG those undreground, IF underground jutsu is Undodgeable
Rank Four Summons: Ryuusho – “The Black Dragon”
Summon Cost: 20 CP
HP/CP: 50/50
ATK/DEF: Highest Summoner Stat +3
Base Damage: Basic Large Weapon Damage, No Penalties.
Unlike all the previous dragons, Ryuusho is a calm, collect, and sleek dragon, built entirely for flight. His thirty foot wingspan can create a storm of wind during takeoff, and his 20 feet of body is built for speed in flight. His coloring is unlike that of the other sky dragons; in fact his very body type is unlike the others of his domain. In our sense, he is a more Western dragon, with four legs and two rather large wings, whereas the others of his domain are the Eastern dragons with four legs, long slender bodies, and no wings. When speaking with humans, he sounds humble, almost like a teacher. For this reason Mayuko has a tendency to refer to him as Ryuu-sensei, a title that he enjoys thoroughly. Due to his nature as a sky dragon, he has access to the Raiton and Fuuton elements in their purest form, granting them the ability to cause much more damage with each strike.
Rank 4:+1d6 HP DMG and +3 DR
Special Attack: Dragon’s Wrath (A-rank - 15 CP)
RP: Using his control of wind, this dragon blasts a target with an enhanced gust of wind directly from his mouth. This blast of wind has enough force behind it to level a small town and cut through solid stone.
PvP: 2d10 + 4d4 DMG
Rank Five Summons: Ryuarashi – “Goddess of the Tempest”
Summon Cost: 25 CP
HP/CP: 60/60
ATK/DEF: Highest Summoner Stat +4
Base Damage: Basic Large Weapon Damage +1d4, No Penalties.
The Goddess of the Tempest is a powerful force. She is so widely known that when storms hit the island countries, they are typically associated with Ryuarashi out of reverence for her natural power. She is an absolutely magnificent dragon, thousands of years old, and one of the wisest of her kind. Her scales are a deep ocean blue and her body is in the style of the Eastern Dragons, long and slender (1 Kilometer in length) with two arms and spikes running down the length of her back. Her head is ornate, a bright gold outlines her facial features, the whiskers are a deep white, and she has a large dorsal-like fin which runs down from her head that slowly becomes her spinal spikes. Despite her natural affinity for creating storms, her nature is quite passive. She is reserved, peaceful, and typically a loving dragon. She treats Mayuko more as a daughter than as a summoner, immediately taking a motherly approach with all the questions she asks Mayuko upon summoning.
As legend goes, the tempests she creates come from her disagreements with the God of the Sea Ryujin, her partner. When they fight, she pulls the water from the oceans, steals wind from the air, and pulls lightning from the clouds in order to get her point across to Ryujin. These storms she conjures up continue to rage long after their fights, until they meet land where they are cut off from the constant flow of water into the storm. Needless to say, the Tempest is her creation, and those who practice the art of the Tempest are her children.
Rank 5: +1d8 HP Damage and +3 DR
Special Attack: Typhoon (S-Rank - 20 CP)
RP: The goddess of the tempest commands storms with little to no effort. A full on typhoon can form from a flick of her enormous tail, which can completely ravage an entire coastline. Due to this ease, she can create in any environment a tropical storm to ravage the area.
PvP; Full AoE (Allies take 1/2 DMG) - 2d10 + 2d8 + 2d6 DMG
- Back Story:
- The loss of Yashanny was a major blow to Mayuko, even though she let the world see her as perfectly fine and dandy. She was promoted to chuunin not long after, the only of her squad to live long enough to successfully do so, so she had no real time to morn his loss. Work came to her quickly and nonstop, she became a bloodhound for the village rather quickly, tracking missing ninja for miles and standing on guard during her short breaks. She didn’t have time to think much about friends, family, or even about her uncle who vanished one day, on his quest to become a sage. Because of this, when she did get to have time to herself, she spent it alone, in the empty clan compound, reading through various books of the library. She took it upon herself to learn from the vast archives of the Hoshigaki which have been slowly accumulated over the years. It didn’t take her long to find the studies of Kujira in the arts of summoning, as they were still spread out in a corner where the former clan head had been studying. As she read through the scrolls and literature on the subject of studying, she was reminded of the sharks which Yashanny once summoned, then again of the summons she had seen throughout her journeys. She realized there that she wanted that interaction with others. All of her life she had been seen as nothing more than a deadly monster, even by those of her village. The children had always shunned her, either out of fear or of hatred, and the adults ignored her for the most part unless it was to yell at her to get away from their child. Needless to say, she never really had anyone throughout her life that she was close to, most people she was are now dead or M.I.A. and presumed dead, so she’s by herself totally. As she looks back on this lifetime of being alone, she realized that she may have found a way to connect with something through the same means as her uncle and cousin, the summoning jutsu. First, however, she needed to search for the home of these summons or at the very least find a summoning scroll. For this goal, many have seen Mayuko taking jobs deep into other lands, keeping her out of the village and constantly searching through countries like Suna, Tea, Fire, Lightning, Waterfall, etc. to gain information for Kirigakure on the outside world.
During these numerous missions of varying degrees of danger, she never really found a singular summon, however she did at random intervals find what could be considered a “rag tag” group of summons hiding out on a small island directly south of Nagi Island, most of which deep within the rocky island, outcasts from their respective habitats for one reason or another, and brought together by the Dragoness Ryuarashi, the “Goddess of the Tempest.” Inside this rocky outcropping is an entirely different plane of existence, a sanctum for misfit dragons, forced from their homes for whatever reason be it a breach of contract, power struggles, abandonment, or dimensional displacement. The motley crew of dragons inside this rock have come to accept Ryuarashi as the matriarch of their society, willing to lay down their lives to protect her and their home. This, Mayuko came to find extremely quickly when sent on a mission to this very rocky outcropping, blanketed by a destructive tempest that has been dated back hundreds of years to prior to the First Great Shinobi War. She was sent with 5 other shinobi into the storm, to the island for research purposes. Before even reaching the island, however, the team ran into one of the leviathan which guard the sea surrounding the island. This leviathan swept through, swallowing four of the other shinobi before they had even the slightest chance to make a movement, and thus was used as a distraction for Mayuko and the other chunin to make it onto the island, completely ignoring the sea serpent which had devoured their comrades. These two climbed up the sharp cliff face of the island -located in the exact center of the storm- in the search for some sort of shelter for a brief moment. It didn’t take them long to find a small cave located just below the crest of the cliffs, which they immediately took refuge in. This is where Mayuko meets the first of her would be summons, a small green forest dragon, covered in leaves, about the size of a small dog. It was nestled up in a small nest it had made for itself of leaves and twigs, but upon seeing the newcomers to his cave, he curled up defensively, backing himself as far away as he could. Mayuko, in her love of all things animal, pulled from her clothing a small fish, much like she is prone to do, and attempted to feed the small beast, much to the dismay of her fellow chunin. The small forest dragon’s stomach rumbled, but the little one growled at the shark girl, until she dropped the fish directly in front of the dragon. He moved forward, and sniffed the fish quickly before nibbling and ultimately downing the fishy present left for him by the blue humanoid creature. It yips up at Mayuko like a puppy, asking for more from her, which she gladly delivers on, until the newly hatched dragon is sitting with her enjoying a meal together. Mayuko, without skipping a beat, names her new friend Tadashi – a name he rather seems to enjoy – and places him on her shoulder before heading off with the other nameless shinobi who is irrelevant to this story.
Upon leaving, and scaling the remainder of the cliff face, the trio find themselves on a flat plateau, with a single building in the center, this building is absolutely massive, towering what feels like hundreds of feet above, with a set of double doors of equal size. The chunin moves forward and presses on the door, weighing many tons, which seems to move rather easily as it glides across the interior floor of black marble inlaid with golden designs of eastern, western, and new world dragons. Not far into the building is a giant marble staircase, the likes of which are unimaginable in size. The two chunin and their dragon companion choose to venture forth into this colossal structure and down the set of stairs before them into an unknown environment. When they reach the foot of the stairs, they find themselves moving through a tunnel that leads into a large open area, in the center of the island, or… what may still be the island. It looks to them much too large to be the same island, as this interior area is divided into five different environments, all surrounding a central island that looks like a copy of what they just entered, surrounded by a moat of fresh water which one could see numerous species of dragons drinking from. The areas were divided between a desert/windy rocky plateau, a volcanic landscape, a jungle/forest with swamps, a snowy field of snow with forests and mountains, and lastly a coastal region that seems to involve a rather tropical environment with clean sands and waters. These five biomes even seem to have their own weather patterns, completely separate from the biome that touches it directly as well, defying all logic and reasoning.
Before the trio, a large Mountain Drake (Ryutake) and two smaller of the same stand guard, challenging them for their presence in this sacred ground. Mayuko, the quick thinker, presents the smaller forest dragon to Ryutake, diverting their attention quickly “This baby was asleep in a cave on the ledge of your mountain, look at him! He was cold, scared, and alone and you guys have all this in here and didn’t offer him refuge? Shame on you, ya big meanies.” To this, the giant mountain dragons, standing like mountains before her, had nothing to say. How can a small girl, barely bigger than a normal meal, have the audacity to challenge us, the literal face of the mountains? As they came to attempt a rebuttal, a long graceful Asian dragon soars across from her standing on the center platform. Her scales glisten as water seems to gently flow across her body in small streams. At some places the water runs off of her body, giving this elegant blue-scaled dragon a trail of shimmering water that falls to the earth in the form of a light rain, creating a rainbow effect which follows below her. As she draws closer, her voice can be heard drifting in the wind around. It sounds angelic, otherworldly, and incredibly serene, lulling the new arrivals into a sense of peace and safety. “Hello my children, I see you have brought with you a youngling, new to this world and without mother. I thank you for doing so, even if he were only mere feet away from this paradise.” As she gets closer, her full length becomes increasingly more and more breath-taking, one can feel the cool breeze infused with water droplets that flow from the large serpent-like dragon’s body as it refreshingly sprays across the two Kirigakure shinobi’s bodies. Mayuko’s jaw drops at the sight of such a beautiful creation, truly this is a goddess floating elegantly towards her, for it could be nothing else. Once this magnificent creation is mere feet from Mayuko, directly above the mountain dragons, her mouth moves to form a short sentence in the language of the dragons, asking for them to please step down from their new guests. She then turns to look each shinobi in the eyes, first to the chunin who recoils ever so slightly and then to Mayuko who is entirely entranced by the beauty of this dragon before her eyes. “My name…” says the floating dragon goddess, “is Ryuarashi, and what lays before you is what I have created for my wayward children. Those outcast and abandoned, left to take care of themselves, and I thank you for bringing this youngling here to me. Here he will be safe, well fed, and loved by me.” She would visibly smile at that last statement, before moving closer to Mayuko, sniffing her which blows her hair all over. The young Hoshigaki stood there for a moment, before in turn sniffing the dragon goddess, who’s scent was just as magnificent. Mayuko recognized the salty tint of the sea emanating from Ryuarashi, as well as the scent that is carried in the winds of a storm. It would be impossible to describe, but Mayuko had smelled this before, while swimming in the ocean underneath Typhoons during her days as a genin under the supervision of Kujira. Her small eyes open wide, and she can’t help but to hug the face of this dragon before her, a bit teary eyed. She doesn’t know what brought her to do this anymore than those who were there to witness it, but she said aloud to this dragon who she had just met, words she had said to no one “I love you.” Her little sharkling heart beat fast, as she hugged this face, this cold yet soothing face of a dragon goddess, who made no movement for a short while before chuckling and nosing the young blue girl off of her face. “Welcome home my child of the sea.” Mayuko cries at this, the salty tears of a shark girl who had never really felt at home with anyone aside from her uncle. Her family was never really that loving aside from Kujira, and most of them were dead by now. Here, within mere moments, with only meeting a singular dragon of legends, did she feel like she was at home, in a place where she belonged. She was in the realm of misfits, like herself, outcast from the society which they were born into, for one reason or another. Tadashi, the small green dragon which was sitting on her shoulder, licks her face to snap her out of it, making a small squealing sound as it does to show his concern for his new found friend. This does snap her out of it and she apologizes to Ryuarashi for acting the way she did, offering no explanation for why she broke into tears, not that the dragon needed the explanation for as to why, she already knew. Following this, the chunin that followed Mayuko into this place asks if they would be allowed to wander the place, to which Ryutake agrees to guard the wandering shinobi while they make that trip. Our sharkling girl stays with Ryuarashi, however, to see where Tadashi will be living, and to get a better feel for what this place is. She ended up staying there, training and practicing with the dragons for a full week, the other chunin, however, was sent back to Kirigakure with a message from Mayuko that she was taking her leave of absence to train with the newfound allies of the village. Here, is where she learned how to perform the summoning jutsu, under the careful guidance of Ryuarashi and Ryuusho (the Black Sky Dragon). They taught her everything from the seals, to the actual chakra manipulation and implementation of the jutsu. While putting the jutsu into practice, however, Mayuko had to meet who she was going to be summoning at first – Tadashi and Ryukaji. This was a completely different kind of training, however, and ended up testing her mental limits whether it was originally intended to or not. Tadashi was easy, he already had imprinted on Mayuko and now sees her as his mother, it’s Ryukaji that was the problem. He is a large fire dragon, covered in scales of the most elegant ruby coloration that could exist on a dragon, with the features common to the Western Dragon of mythology. He is also rather stubborn and violent, preferring to only fight when he feels like it as he fights the man in his dragon-teenage years. He has the typically ‘you can’t tell me what to do’ attitude common to human teenagers who have yet to learn any better. This is exactly why Ryuarashi decided to place him in the care of Mayuko however, and probably will be her death at some point in time.
Their first interaction went absolutely terrible, the fire dragon decided that it would be best to try to burn our young dragon-tamer Mayuko in a dazzling blaze. When the blaze had settled, the smart mouth dragon who immediately walked around was met with a fist of pure, unadulterated Sharkloli rage which sent him flying across the realm into a tree somewhere in the forested area. The singed Mayuko, was unable to save much of her clothing, but saved herself thanks to the training of Kujira in the arts of Hoshigaki suiton, covering herself in a thick layer of nearby water just in time. When the fire-dragon finally flew back over he locked horns with the young Sharkling, starting an explosive rivalry between the two of them which came into play during their training together more than once, leading to numerous training accidents that could have gotten the both of them killed had it not been for their instructors saving them.
As the days of their training came to an end, the two somewhat began to get along. Ryukaji was less prone to attempting to scorch everyone’s favorite Sharkloli and Mayuko didn’t attempt to rip off the fire-dragon’s wings when they met. It’s a win in the eyes of Ryuarashi and Ryuusho, even if it doesn’t seem to be to the eyes of the world. Tadashi was just happy to be able to help Mayuko out even if it’s only a perceived assistance by the baby dragon. He would sleep with her every night which she stayed in the dragon realm, nestled up in a leafy ball against her spine, making a noise similar to a cat’s purr as he slept. Anyone who knows Mayuko would know that her heart would ‘like totally’ melt at this, so when she first found out he would be one of the dragons she would be taught to summon, she more or less died on the spot. On the last day that Mayuko was able to stay in the dragon paradise, she vowed to make a trip back this way at the next chance she could, taking with her the knowledge she had gained from the dragons and headed back into the storm outside without worry of the leviathan that waited outside.
